BRUNSWICK, Ga. – On March 26, 2023, an officer from the Brunswick Police Department met with a mother at Southeast Georgia Hospital about a sex offense. She explained that her juvenile daughter had been raped at their home the afternoon prior by a stranger who appeared at their front door wielding a baseball bat.
The victim said a “tall black male, medium build with no hair and a grayish fog in his eyes” had told her that someone owed him $20. When she tried paying him to get him to go away, he forced his way inside and said that “he wanted something worth $20.”
She stated that the suspect, Troy Rogers, III, was armed with a baseball bat and forced her to have sex with him.
Officers located and arrested Rogers, III, and charged him with rape and felony first-degree burglary. This case is currently active.

On 3/26/2023, I OFC. Elam with the Brunswick Police Department was dispatched Southeast Georgia Hospital in reference to a sex offense. Upon my arrival, I made contact with the mother [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that her daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY] DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had been raped at there residence at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] around 1400-1500hrs on 03/25/2023.
Upon further investigation it was discovered that a Tall Black Male, Medium build with no hair and a greyish fog in his eyes had come to the residence front door and stated that he was owed $20.00. The Daughter tried to pay him $20.00 to get him to go away, but he stated that he wanted something worth $20.00 of value from the house at this point he made entry into the home. He was armed with a baseball bat, then he forced the victim to have sex with him. At this point my supervisor was notified and CID responded.
