LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. – A 39-year-old Hinesville man was arrested after security footage revealed him abandoning his four-year-old son in a cul-de-sac. On the morning of September 6, 2023, a woman called 911 after answering her doorbell and discovering the child alone at her doorstep.
She told the Hinesville Police officer that she walked the child up Knotts Drive to a home where she believed he resided; however, the homeowners did not recognize him. The officer spoke with the juvenile, but he did not know where he lived or his mother’s name.
The only words the toddler spoke were “yes” and “no.” When the officer asked him again where he lived, he pointed to a house on Knotts Drive.
The officer knocked on the door, but the owner did not know the child. After walking up and down the street with him, knocking on doors for an hour, he still could not locate his parents.
A sergeant arrived and searched the Countryside Mobile Home Park
