Bibb County (July 25, 2022) – A Macon man was arrested after his son’s mother noticed extreme bruising and swelling on her child’s buttocks during a bath two days after he returned home from his father’s house.
Rockkell Gordy was arrested after the older son told his mother that his dad had whooped his younger brother for peeing in the bed and that he was woken up in the morning by the screaming.
The child’s mother questioned Gordy about the injuries through text message where he admitted to whooping the child. The child’s mother was able to show police the text message conversation between the two of them which Gordy acknowledged hitting the child.
Gordy was charged with cruelty to children and was arrested six months later during a traffic stop. This case is currently pending in court.

[NARRATIVE #1 on July 25, 2022]
On July 25, 2022 at approximately 11:30 I, Deputy D. Medina was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Ward St. in reference to Child Abuse.
Upon arrival I made contact with the complainant, [WITNESS #1], who stated her youngest son’s father, Rockkell Gordy, had physically abused her child. She stated that her and Mr. Gordy share custody of their two boys and they had spent last week with him. She stated she picked them up Monday and was getting a bath ready for her youngest child when she noticed extreme bruising on the child’s left buttocks area. She stated she asked her oldest child about the incident and he stated that his dad had whooped his younger brother for peeing in the bed and he was woken up Saturday morning by the screaming.
Ms. [WITNESS #1]’ stated that the bruising was clearly visible even with two days gone by. She stated she reached out to the father and showed me texts where he acknowledges the whooping’s. She stated she wanted a report for documentation.
I was shown pictures and observed extreme swelling and brusing on the child’s left buttocks area. She also showed text message’s between both where he acknowledges he had whooped him. I gave Crimes against Children Investigator Clausen and was advised to forward all information to her. I advised Ms. [WITNESS #1] if she had any questions to contact Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

[NARRATIVE #2 on January 26, 2023]
On 1/26/2023 at 1443 hours I Deputy Mattox was patrolling in a marked patrol car on Log Cabin Dr & Eisenhower Pkwy. I did a random license plate check on the vehicle and it came back the owner of the vehicle had a possible warrant.
I initiated a traffic stop using my blue lights and we came to a stop at Pershing and Log Cabin Dr. Macon, Georgia. I made contact with the driver who was the owner of vehicle Mr. Rockkell Gordy. Mr. Gordy was taken into custody. NCIC verfied the warrants were valid. I turned the truck over at his request to his female passenger and his phone and wallet to his brother who arrived on scene.
Mr. Gordy was transported to Bibb County Jail without incident.
