Flowery Branch mother arrested after toddlers death linked to fentanyl cocaine

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Hall County deputies responded to a cardiac arrest call at an Oliver Road residence on February 1, 2023. Once deputies entered the residence, they discovered an unresponsive 21-month-old boy and accessible cocaine and fentanyl in reach of the child.

Despite treatment at a local hospital and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, he passed away that day. Authorities have not confirmed if the baby had cocaine or fentanyl in his system at the time of death, but the sheriff’s office revealed that his mother, Gloria Neshee Stringer, had allowed him access to the drugs.

The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide, and officers arrested 31-year-old Stringer on May 22, 2023, in Buford. They transported her to Hall County Jail, where she faces second-degree murder and second-degree child cruelty charges.

Officials contacted the Hall County Department of Family and Children Services for assistance in this case, which is currently pending in court.
