On Friday May 26, 2023 at 2250 hours I was dispatched to the Burnt Hickory Grocery at 1160 Burnt Hickory Rd, Cartersville in regards to a domestic dispute.

Once on scene I spoke with [VICTIM #1] who said that she was in a physical altercation with her husband Rockey Smith at [70 BLOCK] Road No 1 South, Cartersville.

[VICTIM #1] said that during the dispute Rockey had punched her multiple times in the face with a closed fist. [VICTIM #1] showed me the inside of her bottom lip and it was cut and bleeding. the injury did coincide with a injury received to being punched in the mouth. [VICTIM #1] also said that Rockey had broken her phone.

[VICTIM #1] was also upset that he had their new born baby and wouldn’t give the baby to her. She said that they are married and that the child was his. I explained to [VICTIM #1] that there was no law broken for him having the child.

She said that they lived in a camper behind his parents house.

I went to their residence to try and speak with Rockey but was unable to find him. I was also unable to make contact with his parents at the residence.
