COBB COUNTY, Ga. – On Saturday, August 26, 2023, authorities confirmed the arrest of a suspect in a Louisiana parish in connection with the death of Beauty Couch, a 22-year-old social media influencer from Austell. 21-year-old Eugene Louis-Jacques is being detained at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Facility as he awaits extradition to Cobb County.
Couch’s body was discovered on Wednesday, August 23, in proximity to her vehicle, which had been set on fire. At 12:18 PM, Austell Fire Department personnel responded to a brush fire at Landers Street and Joe Jerkins Boulevard.
Upon arrival, they found a vehicle “fully engulfed in flames.” Once they extinguished the fire, they towed the vehicle to a local wrecker yard.
When the Austell Police Department determined the owner’s name and address via the vehicle’s registration, they sent officers to the residence. They learned that Couch, the vehicle owner’s adopted daughter, was the primary driver and had not been seen since the day prior.
