BIBB COUNTY, Ga. – Multiple agencies apprehended a man and a woman on Monday, June 10, 2024, following a criminal spree, including robbing an elderly woman of her life savings. Authorities explained that the couple rented a vehicle and traveled to the Macon area to conduct scams on victims.

They allegedly stole cash for bills and shopping trips. The couple also kidnapped an elderly woman from the Presidential Parkway Kroger and demanded that she empty her bank account at gunpoint.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia State Patrol SWAT Team, the ATF (United States Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms), and the Atlanta Police Department worked together to arrest Harold Jones and April Harris-Legree at a Godfrey Drive residence in Atlanta.

Law enforcement executed a search of the home and found half of the stolen cash, which will be turned over to its rightful owner. They also discovered a bag containing counterfeit money and multiple items purchased during their shopping sprees.

According to the sheriff’s office, Harris-Legree faces charges of kidnapping and armed robbery, and warrants have been submitted for Jones. This case is pending.
