Board of Education member arrested for Theft

Walton County– The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested and charged Walton County Board of Education member Simoan Baker, 33, of ‘Theft by Conversion’ on August 20, 2022.

Baker, of Monroe, Georgia, turned herself in to the Walton County Jail.

According to an investigation by the GBI, Baker stole more than $24,000 from a conservatorship between November 2020 and November 2021.

The Alcovy Judicial Circuit Distric Attorney’s office requested the GBI investigate Baker for suspected criminal misconduct in June 2022.

The investigation into Baker continues to be active.
