HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. – On January 8, 2024, Houston County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 26-year-old Lizella man Aaron Scott Overturf for his involvement in a vehicle crash that killed a teen father and his two-year-old son. The accident occurred on Highway 41 near Gunn Road in Centerville.

On September 12, 2023, just before 9:00 PM, Overturf is accused of racing and reckless stunt driving in a red 1994 Acura Integra when the victim, the driver of a 2008 GMC Yukon, lost control, traveled off the road, and struck a utility pole. Overturf had multiple prior arrests for traffic violations before the crash that claimed two lives. He has now been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide.

The accident took the lives of the 19-year-old Yukon driver Bryce Anderson and his two-year-old son Braylyn. His girlfriend and their 11-month-old son survived the crash and were transported to a nearby hospital.

The family created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the victims’ burials, treatment, and recovery. The page explains that while the infant sustained no injuries, Anderson’s girlfriend “suffered a fractured back.”

The family says, “This accident has torn her world inside out as she knew it. Bryce and her kids were her everything. Bryce was one of the best dads I have ever seen and provided everything for his family and anyone else who needed a helping hand. He was the definition of what a dad should be.”
