On Sunday June 18, 2023 at 0119 hours, I, Deputy Justin Sharpe (406) was dispatched to an accident with injuries at the intersection of Hwy 23 and Hancock Landing Rd involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, I activated my BCSO issued BWC. I observed a 2011 Mercury Mariner (IL:[REDACTED]) and a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe (SC:[REDACTED]) that were heavily damaged. The 2011 Mercury Mariner/V1 was still occupied by the sole occupant and driver, Esteban Salgado (arrested), who was determined to be at fault for failure to yield while turning left.

See the accident report under this case number for more information. Salgado stated that he attempted to turn left onto Hancock Landing Rd from SB Hwy 23 and did not see the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe/V2 which was traveling NB on Hwy 23, causing the front of V2 to strike the right center of V1.
