On Wednesday May 31, 2023 I (Sgt. L. Tolbert) was dispatched to a non emergency call to report to the Waynesboro Police department in reference to a report of financial fraud. On arrival I activate my body camera and made contact with Ms. [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated her disabled brother was a victim of finacial fraud.
[WITNESS #1] stated after she and her brother [VICTIM #1] noticed an unknown transaction on their credit card statement, they went and filed a police report at the Augusta (Richmond county) Georgia Sheriff department.
[WITNESS #1] stated afterward she tried to call the place where the transacction took place but she got no answer. [WITNESS #1] stated she google the address and went to the auto repair shop.
[WITNESS #1] stated after speaking with one of the worker [WITNESS #2] at the shop, [WITNESS #1] stated she was shown the video of a white female
