On Tuesday June 6 2023, at approximately 1726 hours I responded to 263 Cassville Rd (Atco Spirits) in reference to a trespassing in progress. Upon my arrival, I observed a white male wearing a black shirt and blue jeans as described by Bartow County Dispatch.
The male was sitting on the curb outside of the neighboring business (Dollar General). As I pulled into the parking lot, the male saw me approaching and stumbled to get up beginning to walk away.
I gave the male loud verbal commands to stop as I exited my marked patrol vehicle and the male continued to walk away, now speed walking into a jog. A small foot pursuit ensued and the male was apprehended shortly behind the business.
The subject was detained and placed into handcuffs behind the back checked for proper fit and double locked for safety.
When asked why the subject ran he stated “poor decisions”. I searched the subject incident to arrest yielding negative for any weapons or contraband.
While searching the male, his identification was located Identifying him as Mr. Thomas Partain. While speaking with Mr. Partain a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his person.
I relocated to the complainant at Atco Spirits who stated Mr. Partain was harassing customers by asking for money and them to buy him items. Complainant was able to provide his copy of the CTW Mr. Partain was issued recently. A check through Cartersville Admin Services Confirmed that Mr. Partain was trespassed from Atco Spirits & Dollar General as well.
