Wednesday March 13 2024 at 1455 hours, I Deputy James Douglas (123) along with Corporal Zay’vion Williams responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Acorn Drive regarding a gunshot complaint.

Upon my arrival I spoke with Darquez Freeman, listed victim who was being treated my Central EMS under the patio of the residence.

Freeman stated he had been walking to the Circle K in an undetermined direction when he was grabbed by an unknown male subject and shot in the right thigh, causing an entry and exit wound.

Freeman was very evasive while on the scene and would only state, for certain, that he only been in the Augusta area for approximately two (2) weeks.

Freeman was then transported to AUMC by Central EMS Unit A22.

Investigators Brown and Evans arrived on scene and took command and I was instructed to handle this as an aggravated assault.
