On February 25, 2024, I Deputy Marlin responded to a person being shot call.
Upon arrival I witnessed one black male laying on the ground outside with a gun shot wound to the back of the neck, face and to his knee, who was later identified as [VICTIM #1]. There was another black male inside of the residence laying by the front door with a gunshot wound to the knee, who was identified as Jordan Smith.
I spoke with witness [WITNESS #1] who stated her son Jordan Smith and husband [VICTIM #1] was in a fight with each other and later heard gunshots. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated her son Jordan Smith was visiting her from St. Louis for a party. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated [VICTIM #1] was not suppose to be at the residence because they are going through a divorce and because [VICTIM #1] and Jordan constantly fight with each other. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated [VICTIM #1] came over to pick something up from the front door, that she left for him. [WITNESS #1] stated [VICTIM #1] arrived to the door around 7:50 pm per text message. [WITNESS #1] stated soon after she heard Jordan and [VICTIM #1] arguing and then heard a tussle. [WITNESS #1] stated she heard gunshots soon after the tussle and was unsure of where the shooting occurred.
[WITNESS #1] stated soon after the shooting Jordan started knocking on the door and told her he had been shot by [VICTIM #1]. I spoke with another witness by phone who wanted to remain anonymous, but stated she heard the whole thing and stated the son Robert Smith is the one who shot [VICTIM #1], and is unsure of how Jordan Smith was shot.
