On Monday, 04/01/2024, I, Deputy L. Hammack (#727) was dispatched to [400 BLOCK] Makers Way, Dawsonville GA 30534 (District 4), in reference to a dog being shot.
Upon arrival I met with the complainant. She advised that her kids had tried to feed their dog pizza that day. The dog did not eat the pizza. They found this unusual and decided to take a closer look at the dog to see if they could determine the reasoning. That is when the complainant found a hole that is consistent with a gun shot on the side of the dog. They took the dog to the vet and had the dog x-rayed. The vet then discovered what appeared to be a .22 bullet inside of the dog. The complainant was able to provide a residence that may have more information on the situation.
Sgt. de Klerk (#735), Animal Control, and myself then went to go interview the residents. They stated that they did not shoot the dog and that they do not even own a firearm. We then went back to advise the complainant of what we found. Video uploaded to server.
