On Saturday, 06/24/2023, at approximately 0106 hours, I was conducting traffic control from Salters Field. I was observing the intersection of HWY 196 E at HWY 84 E. I observed a silver Acura TL (GA Tag [REDACTED]) approach the light from HWY 196 E. The vehicle failed to yield to the red light and merged directly onto HWY 84 E. I activated my emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop.

The vehicle slowed to 10-15 MPH and swerved across the fog line. The driver of the vehicle continued at a slow speed and refused to stop. I requested another unit due to the vehicle not stopping. The driver drove over the overpass and eventually came to a stop near Spencer Gauldin Rd. While behind the vehicle, I conducted a GCIC/NCIC inquiry on the tag and the response was the registered owner was wanted and had a suspended license.

I made contact with the driver who was later identified as the registered owner, Mr. Tevin Grubbs, and immediately ordered him out of the vehicle. I asked why he refused to stop and he advised me he didn’t do anything wrong so he did not feel the need to stop. I was able to see that Mr. Grubbs matched the photo provided by GCIC/NCIC as the registered owner of the car.
