OCONEE COUNTY, Ga. – On the night of September 16th, 2023, law enforcement officers were called to a distressing situation that unfolded at White Oak Drive. Meghan Watson, a 34-year-old mother, had called 9-1-1, reporting that she had been locked out of her home.
At approximately 11:40 PM, an Oconee County Sheriff’s sergeant and deputy were dispatched to Watson’s residence and found her, her four-year-old child, and a woman outside the home. They noted Watson’s agitated demeanor and that she seemed to be suffering from mental distress. She claimed her husband had locked her out of their house, though it was later determined that she had inadvertently locked herself out.
The sergeant and deputy determined Watson was “extremely inebriated and intoxicated.” She had no recollection of calling 9-1-1 and “demanded to know why [law enforcement officers] were there.” She “was agitated and screaming.”
