The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Atlanta Police Department on May 17, 2024:
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – On May 17th, 2024, at approximately 6:06PM, officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Junior Drive NW and Hamilton E. Holmes Drive NW in reference to a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located a 12-year-old male who sustained several apparent gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm. The male was alert, conscious, and breathing, and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred at 2201 Martin Luther King Junior Drive NW. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
