On 06/03/2023 Corporal Lewis was supervising a License Check Point on the I-75 South Bound Exit ramp at Mile Marker 353 when he observed a vehicle that was failing to come to a stop for several Deputies Verbal Commands. Corporal Lewis approached the vehicle and spoke with the offender who was the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle. Corporal Lewis advised who he was and the reason for the interaction.
While Corporal Lewis was speaking with the offender he could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the offenders person and also observed that the offender had glassy eyes. Corporal Lewis asked the offender if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages and the offender stated he had not. Corporal Lewis had the offender move his vehicle to the shoulder of the exit ramp to verify that the driver was safe to operate a motor vehicle.
