[NARRATIVE #1 on February 28, 2024]

On 2/28/2024, Mr [WITNESS #1] and Mr. [WITNESS #2] advised Corporal Allen that they had a student in Mr. [WITNESS #2] office that had apparently had some sort of blunt that he had removed from his pocket when they told the student to empty his pockets. The student is Daniel Scott Lopez. Mr. [WITNESS #2] and Mr. [WITNESS #1] were advised by a teacher at the school that the student was in their classroom and that he smelled like marijuana. Mr.Lopez stated to Mr. [WITNESS #2] that he had smoked marijuana but not at the school. He had smoked it at home. Mr. [WITNESS #2] stated that with what the student had said and with the blunt he had taken out of his pocket that the school had enough probable cause to search his car.

Corporal Allen was not involved in the search of the car. Mr.Lopez stated to Mr. [WITNESS #2] that there were some vapes in the car. When Mr. [WITNESS #2] and Mr. [WITNESS #1] searched the vehicle they found two vapes and also a large knife that was located in the glove box of the car. AT that point Corporal Allen became involved and took possession of the vapes and the knife.

Since this is Mr. Lopez first offense with vapes the school will handle the discipline on the vapes. Corporal Allen took the large knife to be placed into evidence on property receipt number 19581 and placed in a temporary locker at the sheriff office.

Corporal Allen will be charging Mr. Lopez with possession of a weapon on school property and will be taking warrants. Mr. Lopez will be turning himself in to the Catoosa County Sheriff Office on 2/29/2024. No B.W.C. footage was available due to when Corporal Allen got involved with the case.
