On Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at approximately, 1851 I was dispatched to 135 West Cherokee Ave at the Bartow County Courthouse in the employee parking lot in reference to a possible domestic. Upon arrival I met with Officer Miller and Officer Weldon, who had two subjects Mr. BJ Bearden and Ms. Kayla Hensley detained in hand cuffs.
Officer Weldon informed me that Ms. Hensley was found to have an active warrant for theft by shoplifting through Bartow County (warrant taken on 05/26/2023), and that Cartersville Dispatch confirmed the warrant to be valid.
Officer Miller conducted a search incident to arrest and while searching Ms. Hensley’s purse he observed a black flash light with the name “Kayla” written on it. Officer Miller stated when he opened the flash light he found three separate baggies, one containing a white powder substance, another containing a brown powder substance, and another containing 5 green pills.
