On 07/07/2024 I was dispatched to [80 BLOCK] Dogwood Acres in reference to an Aggravated Assault.

Upon arrival I spoke with the complainant [VICTIM #1], [VICTIM #1] said that she was walking back from her mother in laws house when the suspect Heather MccLelland started walking towards her with a bat in her hand swinging it saying she was going to beat her up. [VICTIM #1] then said that Heather told her pit bull dog to attck her at the same time Heather was swinging the bat around.

[VICTIM #1]’s husband [WITNESS #1] was out side and seen Heather with the bat so he said at that time he walked to the fence and asked Heather whart was she doing. [WITNESS #1] said when he confronted Hesather she threw the bat down and ran inside her house. When I went and spoke with the neighbor [WITNESS #2] he said that Heather was threatning [VICTIM #1] with the bat and did tell her dog to attack [VICTIM #1].

At that time Deputy Sumrow placed Heather under arrest for Aggravated Assault and placed handcuffs on her checked for fitness and double locked. I then transported Heather to the Wayne County Jail where she was booked in with a hold placed for warrants. I will be charging Heather with two counts of Aggravated assault one for swinging the bat making threats and one for ordering the dog to attack [VICTIM #1].
