On 03/13/2024 I Deputy Harris was dispatched to GA 401 South in reference to a traffic accident.
Upon my arrival contact was made with Hakan Yasav. Yasav stated he was on GA 401 traveling South bound when he was struck by a tractor trailer in stop and go traffic. Yasav stated that the tractor trailer rolled back into the front of the car.
After investigating the accident I deemed that Yasav was at fault for following to closely. I then wrote Yasav a ticket for following to closely. Upon asking Yasav to sign the citation he stated he was not signing it. I then asked him to sign the ticket again and he shock his head no at this time I told Yasav that he would be under arrest if he did not. Yasav then in a very aggressive manner grabbed my pen out of my hand and leaned back into the car with his other hand reaching towards the pistol that he was wearing on his right hip and stated “give me the fu*king ticket” and at this time I advised Yasav that he is being placed under arrest.
I then grabbed Yasav hand and he snatched away I then grabbed Yasav hand again while he was actively resisting. I was then able to get Yasav outside the vehicle with a soft hands techinique and move him to a more sturdy position to get one of his hands behind his back. Yasav was still resisting by not giving me his other hand. Yasav then was drive stunned by Deputy Smith and fell on the ground at this time I was able to gain control of Yasav other hand and place him into custody. Ems was called to the scene to clear Yasav and Yasav was transported to the Peach County Sheriffs Office.
