On 06/16/2023 at approximately 12:42, a BOLO for a reckless driver who had been swerving all over east bound I-20. The caller followed the driver in a white pickup truck with tag [REDACTED] to the Loves truck stop on exit 13 on Monticello Rd.
I made contact with the white truck and, identified it by the tag dispatch gave out. The white truck was in the entrance side road in the parking lot parked along the curb facing in the wrong direction.
As I approached the white truck I noticed a white male with the seat all the way down. The white male was sleeping in the drivers seat. I knocked on the glass several times before the male rolled down his window.
On first appearance the male had glossy red eyes and slurred speech. I told the male why I had approached his vehicle and as he started talking I smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.
I got the males ID and identified him as Justin Childress. Officers asked Childress if he had anything to drink tonight with his response being he had a few beers. Officers asked Childress to turn his vehicle off and step out and walk to the rear of his vehicle.
