I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Willis Wilder Drive. Dispatch advised the caller was not on scene at the residence, but that an altercation had occurred between Preshantia Bowden and a elderly male.
Cpl Rodriguez and I arrived at the residence. Preshantia opened the front door and pushed past Rodriguez and hung some wet clothing on a chair in the front yard. He asked her what had happened at the residence and she began yelling that she did not know. I walked into the house and found Preshantia yelling from a bathroom where she was washing clothes in the sink. I asked where [VICTIM #1] was and she told me he was in his room. I walked into [VICTIM #1]’ room and found him laying on the bed.
[VICTIM #1] told me he got out of bed at approximately 0730hrs this morning. He went into the kitchen to take his medicine and Preshantia began yelling at him about taking out the trash. He advised he did not want to have an argument with her and went back to his room. He advised a short time later she brought the trash can into his room and threw on the floor. She stood beside his bed and yelled and cursed at. SHe then struck in the head several times with an open hand then when he started to sit up she slapped him across the face. She then went into the bathroom and continued to yell at him. He told me he did not have service on his phone to call dispatch.
Preshantia came into the doorway of [VICTIM #1]’ room while I was speaking to him yelling and trying to get past me. I reached out and grabbed Bowden’s right arm and told her to put her hands behind her back. She attempted to pull away from me and get into the bedroom across for the hall bathroom. I spun her around and Rodriguez was able to handcuff her. Rodriguez escorted her to his vehicle and placed her in the rear passenger seat of his patrol vehicle.
Rodriguez transported Bowden to the Monroe County Jail where she was turned over to jail personnel.
