On the above date and time I responded to [2300 BLOCK] Gordon St. in reference to a Gunshot.
Upon my arrival I made immediate contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in which she advised that the gunshot victim was inside the residence. At this time, myself and other officers on scene entered the residence. Upon making entry I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in which he advised he had been shot in the leg. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was escorted onto a couch to sit down, in which I then began taking off his pants to begin administering first aid. I observed that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had bullet hole on his left leg, located on his mid quad. The injury did not appear to be life threatening.
Shortly after, I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who shot him in which he stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] known’s the male. At this time other officers on scene conducted a protective sweep of the residence, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began stating that the male had already left at this time. Shortly I was advised by both [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that the offender was a male by the name of Willie Shuler. Upon asking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where Mr. Shuler was at she advised that he is at her residence.
I was advised that a firearm was located in the hallway of the residence. Firearm was secured inside patrol vehicle.
Upon asking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what happened, he advised that Mr. Shuler came to the residence looking for his truck keys, and then “bummed rush” the door. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated he attempted to get out of Mr. Shuler way in which he then claimed that Mr. Shuler hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the head and then shot at [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that when Mr. Shuler came to the residence she was sleeping on the couch. She then advised that she believes she was struck in the head when Mr. Shuler was coming inside the residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] would then advise that Mr. Shuler left in a 2003 Black Ford Expedition with big chrome rimes. She further advised that Mr. Shuler may be going back to Tallahassee.
I was shortly advised by other officers on scene that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a lump on her head, At this time I did observe a lump on the back of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] head. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] shortly after advised me that Mr. Shuler is her boyfriend and that she just told him that she cheated on him with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She further state that she has “been trying to get ride of him, because he abusive”.
A shell casing was located under the kitchen table.
Scene was secured.
CID was notified and responded on scene.
