HALL COUNTY, Ga. – The father of a 10-week-old girl was arrested on May 26, one day after a local hospital contacted police to report the infant was brought in with severe, suspicious injuries. Her father is now charged with her murder.
Reports say Oakwood police began investigating Hugo Alexander Flores-Reyes, 20 after his daughter was taken to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The infant died the following day, and Reyes was arrested.
Police visited the family’s Lanier Mill Circle home, where they continued their investigation before initially charging Reyes with aggravated battery and first-degree child cruelty. After the hospital reported the baby’s death the following day, Reyes was charged with murder.
Reyes remains in the Hall County Jail pending trial. His charges include two counts of felony murder, aggravated battery, battery, child cruelty, and criminal trespass.
