Warning: The following story contains information regarding alleged sexual violence against children.

DODGE COUNTY, Ga. – A former educator and chairman for the Dodge County Board of Education remains detained at the Dodge County Jail after his arrest on Friday, May 31, 2024, for sexual offenses involving children. 57-year-old Elvis Davis was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children, two counts of child molestation, and two counts of improper sexual contact by a foster parent.

Dodge County Superintendent Susan Long stated, “The board is aware and has no comment on pending and legal issues.”

On May 16, 2024, the Eastman Police Department requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation assist with their investigation involving the child molestation allegations. The GBI revealed that the accusations are not connected to the school.

Davis was last seen attending an event held for the eighth graders at Dodge County Middle School on the final day of classes.

Davis was employed as Dodge County Middle School’s principal four years ago and worked at Dodge County Elementary School prior to that.

This case is pending, and a bond has not yet been set. Upon the investigation’s completion, the case will be transferred to the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office in the Oconee Judicial Circuit for prosecution.

The GBI requests that anyone with information regarding this case call the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Eastman at 478-374-6988.
