Arrest made for shooting death of an 18 year old Macon man

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigator charged a Macon man with Murder.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators charged 21-year-old Matthew Milner Jr., of Macon, with Murder. This was in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Jamaya B Warner, of Macon on August 20, 2022. Milner was already in the Bibb County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony on a separate case.

Milner was out on bond for Criminal Use of an Article with Altered ID Mark, three counts of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, and Abuse or Exploitation of Disabled Adult or Elderly Person.

Milner is being held without bond at this time.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that was reported to have occurred near the corner of Dellwood Drive and Dellwood Court just after 11:30 p.m. on August 19, 2022.

Deputies responded to a person shot in the parking lot of the Circle K 5602 Thomaston Road. It was reported that 18-year-old Jamaya B Warner, of Macon, was driving on Dellwood Court near Dellwood Drive when unknown subjects fired shots at the car. Warner was struck by gun fire. Warner and her 21-year-old male passenger drove to the Circle K on Thomaston Road. Warner was pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner Luann Stone. The 21-year-old passenger was not injured during the incident. No one else was injured during the incident.

There is no information on the suspects or what lead up to the incident at this time. The next of kin has been notified by Deputy Coroner Luann Stone.
