On February 23, 2024 at 9:03 am, Ball Ground Deputies and TEU Deputies responded to a vehicle collision on Ball Ground Road and Preserve Parkway regarding a GMC pickup truck and a Ford SUV.

Upon arriving Deputies found a 2022 Black GMC Sierra 1500 (GA: [REDACTED]) and a 2010 White Ford Escape (GA: [REDACTED]) down an embankment with extensive front-end damage on Ball Ground Road. Preliminary investigation shows the GMC was traveling north on Ball Ground Road, going towards Preserve Parkway, when it exited the roadway on the right side. After overcorrecting, the GMC crossed over the double yellow lines and went into the oncoming lane of travel where it struck the Ford head-on.

The driver of the GMC, Nina Maria Lee, complained of minor injuries. The driver of the Ford, Mr. [REDACTED], had serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital. The front passenger of the Ford, Ms. [VICTIM #1], was transported by ambulance to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where she was pronounced deceased.

The collision is currently being investigated by TEU Deputies.
